The Green party is ubiquitous in German life. Public broadcasters are gushing. The corporate media is gushing. Legend has it that they even recycle their bathwater as drinks. And yet polls suggest that they will only win around 20% of the votes in the upcoming general election.
Why bother then? Because the other parties – with the exception of the AfD – are following the same script. It is their policies that will be pushed through, no matter what. They are the equivalent of the AOC-wing of the US Democrats which has driven every concern for the little guy out of their party. We are witnessing a snobbish cult infecting one public institution after the other and leaves behind nothing but empty shells, exclusively answerable to their political whims.
Finally an initiative is propping up info posters in the big city where political education is in dire need: Green Feces, #GruenerMist!
The EU Commission solicited a report on right-wing extremist’s humour. The writers in charge were Maik Fielitz and Reem Ahmed of the Radicalisation Awareness Network RAN. It isn’t quite clear how they define right-wing extremists, but their enumerations don’t contain Islamists who, as the left is convinced, are ‘conservatives’ that, left to their own devices, would degrade any beautiful desert to a stinking free-market economy. We are no longer looking at ‘backward-looking, stiff and formal’ neo-Nazis, they say. But if it isn’t about all these top-hat, tailcoat skinheads with baseball bats that are abundant in Europe, apparently, who are we looking at? Pepe, of course!
And we look at Saul Alinsky, a ‘civil rights activist,’ who wrote the ‘renowned’ book ‘Rules for Radicals.’ ‘Rules for Radicals’ proposes that humour can be used as a weapon. And while sneering does the trick for the left right now, Alinsky’s idea was supposedly ripped from his innocent and harmless communist intentions and misappropriated to sinister internet memes.
Germany is mourning the 30th anniversary of the country’s reunification. In the wake of the fall of the wall today’s president Frank-Walter Steinmeier had lost his column at ‘Demokratie und Recht,’ a magazine financed by the East German dictatorship. The publisher went bankrupt (due to the cruelty of the capitalist, fascist market, i.e. people who rather buy something else).
Media and politicians wail about the hardship East Germans faced after their beloved dictatorship fell. All these people wanted, so the wisdom of our elites, was equality. They may have shouted ‘freedom!’ and ‘we are the people!,’ but what they meant is in the eye of the elites and that is constantly aired in the Western media for 30 years and running. After 30 years of constant petty comparisons about wage differences, pension differences, employment rate differences, property ownership differences on TV and in print the elites finally hear them, they hear their cries for freedom and stubbornly translate them into cries for equality.
Note: Sorry for the voice-box sound. I noticed it too late.
