Publisher ‘Fischer Verlag’ Dropped Conservative Novelist Monika Maron

The publisher ‘Fischer Verlag’ has dropped successful author Monika Maron. The official reason is that the house does not respect her freedom of association, enshrined in, among other places, the United Nation’s Declaration of Human Rights. Her guilt by association is the small bookstore ‘Buchhaus Loschwitz’ which functioned as a publisher for her essay compendium ‘Crooked Figures, Bitten by the Wind, Three Decades of Essays.’ Fischer was offered the compendium, but declined and agreed with the author’s cooperation with a second publisher. The gripe was about Monika Maron’s choice, the little bookstore.

Susanne Dagen, the owner of ‘Buchhaus Loschwitz,’ has a Youtube book show called ‘Book Opened. Book Closed. Reading With Right-Wingers.’ The show is co-hosted by Ellen Kositza who is the wife of Götz Kubitschek. Who? The devil, of course. At the end of this long chain of contacts is the devil. A conservative. Kubitschek is also a publisher and the media paints him as a Neonazi for years on end. In reality, though, none of these people are Darth Vader, or Hitler, or Voldemort. The true reason has probably more to do with Monika Maron’s own texts. But who is Monika Maron? And what is her body of work? I give you an introduction in this video.
