Government Wants To Know How Much We Heat

The Bundesrat (roughly comparable to the US Senate) has passed a law to monitor our heating habits. The lawmakers say that they want us to learn how to heat ‘consciously’ (German: bewussten und sparsamen Umgang mit Wärmeenergie anzuregen). A snitching, remotely accessible heating meter is to be mandated on all new installments and existing heaters will be fitted with one by the end of 2026 at the latest. On our utility bills we will not only see our energy use compared to that of the previous year, but also to the AVERAGE of OTHER RESIDENTS.

Publisher ‘Fischer Verlag’ Dropped Conservative Novelist Monika Maron

The publisher ‘Fischer Verlag’ has dropped successful author Monika Maron. The official reason is that the house does not respect her freedom of association, enshrined in, among other places, the United Nation’s Declaration of Human Rights. Her guilt by association is the small bookstore ‘Buchhaus Loschwitz’ which functioned as a publisher for her essay compendium ‘Crooked Figures, Bitten by the Wind, Three Decades of Essays.’ Fischer was offered the compendium, but declined and agreed with the author’s cooperation with a second publisher. The gripe was about Monika Maron’s choice, the little bookstore.

Susanne Dagen, the owner of ‘Buchhaus Loschwitz,’ has a Youtube book show called ‘Book Opened. Book Closed. Reading With Right-Wingers.’ The show is co-hosted by Ellen Kositza who is the wife of Götz Kubitschek. Who? The devil, of course. At the end of this long chain of contacts is the devil. A conservative. Kubitschek is also a publisher and the media paints him as a Neonazi for years on end. In reality, though, none of these people are Darth Vader, or Hitler, or Voldemort.
