Deutsche Welle’s View on World Refugee Day

Harrison Mwilima at Deutsche Welle, which is a leg of the German public broadcasting system, has designed a new form of cooperation between Africa and Europe: Europe denies all its interests and African regimes get everything they want.

For that to work Europeans have to listen. Currently they work with dictators, he abhors, just to curb migration. They should rather listen to same dictators, he proposes. The piece is another intellectual gem highlighting the quality of German public broadcasting.

Ursula von der Leyen’s Extra Media Relations Person – A Corruption Allegation

The case is not new, but still current. Ursula von der Leyen created an office for her old companion Jens Flosdorff. He served under her in the German state of Lower Saxony, in the Federal Ministry of Defence and now on the EU level. The salary is great, yes, huge. But what is his position? He is the speaker who does not work with the corps of press secretary, the media-relation craftsman for the administration-media-fleece complex, the right hand of the left hand. He holds the Office of Flosdorff, l’office de Flosdorff.

Jean Quatremer, a journalist with the French magazine ‘Libération’ tried to raise awareness for the scandal. With limited success so far.
